School Data Agreement

Between Christian Languages (“we”) and the licensed school, co-op, or ministry (“the School”). One page on purpose.

1. What the School is agreeing to

The School licenses Christian Languages for its students and consents, on behalf of parents, to our collecting the limited student information described below for educational use. The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act permits a school to give this consent for school-directed services. The School confirms it has the authority to do so.

2. Our role

We act as a school official with a legitimate educational interest under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act. We use student information only to provide the service and only as the School directs. We are not permitted to use it for anything else, and we do not.

3. What we collect about a student

A display name, a sign-in username, a password, and their learning record: lessons completed, answers graded right or wrong, streak, and last activity. Students are not required to provide an email address, and most school accounts have none. We do not collect a date of birth, a home address, a phone number, a photograph, or any government identifier.

4. Reflections are private, and never graded

Every lesson closes with a written reflection. It is personal spiritual writing, not classroom work. No teacher, administrator, or member of our staff reads a student’s reflection, and it never contributes to any score we report. A teacher can see that a reflection was written. That is all.

5. No advertising, no selling, no recording

We show students no advertising. We never sell, rent, or trade student information. We do not build advertising profiles. Session recording is switched off for every school account, so we do not capture a student’s screen.

6. What a teacher can see

A teacher sees their own class only: each student’s completed lessons, answer accuracy, current streak, last activity, and whether a reflection was written. Teachers cannot see other classes, other schools, or the contents of any reflection.

7. Security

Data is held with our infrastructure providers (Supabase for the database and authentication, Vercel for hosting), encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is limited to those who need it to operate the service. If a breach affects the School’s students, we will tell the School without undue delay and work with them on notification.

8. Export and deletion

The School may ask us at any time to export or delete its students’ information, and we will do it within 30 days. Parents may make the same request through the School.

9. When the licence ends

Students keep their own accounts and everything they have learned: their progress, streak, garden, and reflections remain theirs. The School simply loses access, and the student may continue on an individual subscription if they choose. Ending a licence never deletes a student’s work.

10. Changes

If we change how student information is handled, we will notify the School before the change takes effect.
